Dozing Off While Reading

It’s hard to admit that I have a bad reading habit. I usually dozed off after reading few pages.  A bad habit I know but what can I do? I can’t keep my eyes open, and it feels like I haven't sleep for a long time even if I just woke up. I can’t help my sleep but to sleep.

Then I discovered the wonders of audio books but the satisfaction you get is different from reading. But I must say that audio books are my best friend. Although I know that eliminating my horrible reading habit takes a lot of determination, consistency and hard work and I am willing to challenge and better myself. I just have to appreciate the fact that I was given a pair of good eyes and ability to read so I must not take this for granted.

So, I've decided that I need to challenge myself and eliminate this bad reading habit.

So, to start with I must finish Neil Gaiman’s Stardust. I've seen the movie and I’m in love with it. Let’s see if I’ll love the novel as well.

The Hunger Games Triology

After watching the Hunger Games movie I decided to finally read the novel. I was so intrigue with the story that I finished the whole novel series in a week, that's a big improvement on my part for I was not fun of reading (I made a promise to myself to try and change it, good luck with that).

I must say Katniss is acting like a slut for kissing both Peeta and Gale (nah, she’s just a confused teenager). I never thought that Prim would die in the end but at least she had Peeta at her side (what a lucky girl!) Over all, hands down to Peete Mellart for his undying love and devotion to Katniss, but I still can’t believe that Peeta had a crush on Katniss on such a young age of 5 years old! It’s way too young to have a crush. Kids at that age usually think of candies and toys. When I was at that age I don't know what crush is, all I know is that I want to play yoyo.  Anyway, still love Peeta Mellark!

I must say not the best story but I was truly entertained. Now, I’m a FAN!  I also like the movie adaptation. Jennifer Lawrence suited Katniss Everdeen’s character and also Josh Hutcherson for playing Peeta Mellart. Now I’m really excited for the movie sequel Catching Fire.

Banana Peel Patties

I've been thinking of doing this vegetarian patty recipe for a very long time but I was way too lazy to do it. But not until a few weeks ago that I finally got motivated to try this banana veggie patty when my ever drop-dead gorgeous friend brought me a sample of her own version of this surprisingly delicious vegetarian recipe.  It’s very inexpensive to do this recipe because it’s made of banana peel and some common ingredients that you can find in your kitchen. So, instead of throwing those banana peels why not turn them into delicious patties.

Ingredients:

5-8 Banana peel (boiled)
1 Onion, chopped
6 Garlic gloves, chopped
Ginger, chopped
2 Eggs, beaten
1/2 cup flour
Salt and pepper to taste
Oil for frying
Chicken broth or garlic breading (optional)

Directions:

1. Finely chopped banana skin.
2. Sauté the onions, garlic, ginger and the banana skin for about 3-5 minutes.
3. In a large bowl add sautéed banana skin, eggs, floor, chicken broth (optional) and salt and pepper to taste (you can adjust this to your likings). You can add an extra onions and garlic in the mixture if you desire.
4. Form the mixture into patties approximately ½ inch thick.
5. In a heated pan add oil and fry patties until slightly firm. Make veggie burgers and enjoy!  :)
